Finnish Benefit Gig In Honor Of CHUCK SCHULDINER Set For Next Month

November 20, 2002

DIABLO, ROTTEN SOUND, MOKOMA and TIMO RAUTIAINEN & JARKKO MARTIKAINEN have been confirmed to appear at The Fragile Art Of Existence, a charity concert honoring late DEATH frontman Chuck Schuldiner to be held on Dec. 13 (one-year anniversary of Chuck's death) in Tampere, Finland. All acts, with the exception of TIMO RAUTIAINEN & JARKKO MARTIKAINEN, will perform DEATH covers during their respective sets. The official "programme" for the evening will include the following letter from Chuck's mom, Jane Schuldiner, written specially for this event: "I wanted to think about what message I could send for the fans. You all mean so much to me because you not only supported and gave Chuck strength to fight that battle for his life, but so many of you have written to share your thoughts and memories to comfort me when he lost that battle... That's why I want to say something very special. Chuck always said his fans were part of his metal family, and so they are. Of course 13.12.2002 is going to be a very, very difficult day for us and it will help that you are doing this remembrance in Chuck's memory, and we can focus on that on December 13th for comfort. Chuck's family appreciates all the efforts of all involved, and I just wish I could see your show also."
